WXRV 92.5 “The River”, Boston’s independent and solar-powered radio station, has revealed plans for its annual Earth Day concert. This year’s show will be headlined by The BoDeans and local veterans Entrain. The free lunch time concert in honor of Earth Day will take place along the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway from noon to 3 p.m. on Friday, April 22.

The BoDeans are touring in support their latest release, Mr. Sad Clown. Released last April, the album is the Wisconsin-band’s ninth studio effort. The 90’s favorites are best known for their smash single “Closer to Free”, which served as theme song to the TV series “Party of Five”.

Martha’s Vineyard-based six piece Entrain are known for their green-friendly efforts, including running their touring vehicles on waste vegetable oil.

Along with the musical entertainment, The River plans on transforming the Greenway into a fun outdoor atmosphere with arts and crafts and other activities.

Last year’s WXRV Earth Day concert featured They Might Be Giants and Citizen Cope.
