The Big E to feature Reba, Rucker, Shelton & more

The Big E, “New England’s Great State fair”, has revealed plans for its major music entertainment this year and it will feature a trio of country music superstars. Darius Rucker, Blake Shelton and Reba McEntire highlight the list of entertainers headed to West Springfield this fall.

Rucker will be the first to perform at The Big E’s Outdoor Comcast Arena Stage with a show scheduled for Friday, September 23.  The former Hootie & The Blowfish frontman is touring in support of his second country album, Charleston, SC 1966. Released last October, the new album debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 and #1 on Billboard’s Top Country chart.  Charleston, SC 1966 has been powered by hit singles “Come Back Song”, “This” and “I Got Nothin'”. Tickets for the show are available through Ticketmaster for $29 and $39.

Shelton will make his way to West Springfield on Saturday, October 1. The Oklahoma native, who served as a judge/coach to singers on the NBC’s “The Voice”, is touring in support of his brand new release, Red River Blue. The album, his sixth full-length release and follow-up to 2010 EP’s All About Tonight and Hillbilly Bone, debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 after its release in July. Red River Blue features hit singles “Honey Bee” and “God Gave Me You”. Tickets for the show are available through Ticketmaster for $29 and $39.

In her only Massachusetts appearance of 2011, Reba will close out the fair on, Sunday, October 2. The country legend continues to tour in support of her latest release, 2010’s All the Women I Am. The album, her 26th studio effort, features hit singles “Turn On the Radio” and “If I Were a Boy”. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $49 to $69, are available through Ticketmaster.

The Big E will also feature three free shows at the Comcast Arena Stage, which has a capacity of approximately 6,000. Bowzer’s Rock & Roll Party will take place on Saturday, September 24, rising country star Jake Owen will perform on Sunday, September 25 and classic rock favorites Cheap Trick will perform on Friday, September 30. There are a limited amount of premium reserved seating available for each show for $25. Seats in the rest of the venue will be available for free on a first-come, first served basis.

All shows are scheduled to take place at 7:30 p.m. Big E admission, which is priced at $15 for adults, is included when concert tickets are purchased before show date.
