With filming wrapped on his hit Fox TV show “The Following”, Kevin Bacon has turned gears to his musical endeavors and is back on the road with brother and veteran film/television composer Michael. The Bacon Brothers will hit Boston for a performance at the Wilbur Theatre on Friday, May 10. Tickets for the concert, which is scheduled for 10 p.m. after a show from comedian Tom Cotter, are now on sale through Ticketmaster for $25 and $49.

With no new album to promote, longtime fans can expect a set of favorites. In 2011, they released a best of compilation called Philadelphia Road – Best of The Bacon Brothers. The duo do have plans on the horizon for their first release of all new material since 2008’s New Years Day.

“We’re working on stuff now,” said Kevin in an interview with Billboard last fall. “These days we don’t really sit down and get in the studio and record fifteen tracks. It’s sort of piecemeal, we pass things around and people add different parts. We’ve done six records and the tides have shifted a little in terms of the actual writing. I was super, super prolific, and now, for whatever reason, my brother is the one that’s doing more writing. On the next record, however it manifests itself, there will definitely be more songs that he’s written.

Earlier this week, The Bacon Brothers filmed a their performance at Infinity Hall in Norfolk, Connecticut for CPTV as part of the “Infinity Hall Live” series.
