The Avett Brothers have announced plans for a series of ambitious arena shows in 2014, including a stop at Boston’s TD Garden. The band will tackle the home of the Bruins and Celtics on Saturday, March 8 with help from Old Crow Medicine Show. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $27.50 to $55, will go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster.

Magpie and the Dandelion, The Avett Brothers’s eighth studio effort and follow-up to 2012’s The Carpenter, was released earlier this week. The band recorded the new album during the same sessions as The Carpenter with acclaimed producer Rick Rubin, with whom they collaborated with on their previous two releases. The video for lead single “Another is Waiting” is streaming below.

“During those sessions, we just felt it,” the band said in an open letter to fans earlier this year of the decision to record a second album at the same time. “Working with Rick Rubin again, we tapped into something very special. It’s like everybody was in the same zone.”

Old Crow Medicine Show, who played a handful of shows with The Avett Brothers this past summer, continue to tour in support of 2012’s Carry Me Back. Last month, the group was formally inducted into the Grand Ole Opry at a special ceremony at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville.
