TargetCancer, a Boston-based non-profit organization dedicated to raising research funding and creating awareness for rare cancers, will hosts its 2nd annual fundraiser concert next week. The show, which will take place at Royale on Thursday, November 3, will feature performances from Grant-Lee Phillips, Dean and Britta and Will Dailey & The Rivals.

The fundraiser will take place at Royale, located at 279 Tremont Street in Boston, MA. Tickets for the pre-concert cocktail party, silent auction and concert are $100, while concert-only tickets are available for $25. All tickets can be purchased at and concert-only tickets can also be purchased at Ticketmaster. 100% of the proceeds from all of TargetCancer’s initiatives support rare cancer research.

TargetCancer grant recipient Nabeel Bardeesy, PhD, Assistant Professor at Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center and Harvard Medical School will deliver the keynote speech. Earlier this year, TargetCancer awarded a $40,000 grant to support Dr. Bardeesy’s lab at MGH’s Cancer Center. The grant has been applied towards groundbreaking research into bile duct cancer, a rare and largely untreatable form of cancer. A new grant recipient will be announced at the event.

“The funds raised at last year’s benefit were immediately put to use and we have seen tremendous progress in a short time on a deadly cancer that had previously seen minimal research efforts,” explained Kristen Palma, President of TargetCancer, in a press release. “It is clear that advances can be made quickly when funds are directed to the right places. TargetCancer is committed to this idea and we are grateful for and motivated by our partnerships with these very brilliant and committed scientists.”

Silent auction items at the upcoming benefit include vacation packages and home rentals, as well as various sports and music tickets and memorabilia.
