Sound Tribe Sector 9 and Umphrey’s McGee will join forces this summer for a nationwide tour. The instrumental electronic rockers from Santa Cruz and the jam band from Chicago will make their way to Massachusetts for a night at the Bank of America Pavilion on Saturday, August 31. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $35 to $40, will go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. through Live Nation.

Touring this year with their largest production ever, Sound Tribe Sector 9 (STS9) are getting ready to release their twelfth album later this year on their self-owned record label, 1320 Records. Their latest studio EP, When The Dust Settles, was released in 2011 and debuted at #1 on the iTunes Electronic Chart and landed them on Billboard’s Top 25 album chart.

Umphrey’s McGee are celebrating their 15th anniversary this year. Last year, the band released a pair of live DVDs, Live at Red Rocks and Live at Boulder Theater. Both capture the band’s September performances at the respective venues in Colorado. Their last studio album was 2011’s Death By Stereo.

STS9 and Umphrey’s McGee will switch off headlining duties each night with STS9 scheduled to headline the Boston show.
