Stone Temple Pilots will bring their newly released, self-titled album to Boston for a September visit. The band will play the Bank of America Pavilion on Wednesday, September 1. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $38 and $52.50, will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Live Nation. Rising rockers Cage The Elephant will open the show.

The band’s brand new self-titled album was released last month and debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200. It’s their sixth studio effort and first in nearly a decade. Stine Temple Pilots went on hiatus in 2002 shortly after the release of Shangri-La Dee Da. They reunited in 2008 for a lengthy tour and initial work on Stone Temple Pilots began during the band’s soundchecks and then progressed into the studio for recording after the tour’s completion. Produced by the band and mixed by Chris Lord-Alge (Green Day, Dave Matthews Band), the new album is powered by lead single “Between The Lines.” The song enjoyed four weeks as the top track of Mainstream Rock Radio, and three weeks as #1 on the Modern Rock airplay charts.

Prior to their show in Boston, Stone Temple Pilots will play the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncassville, Connecticut on Tuesday, August 31.
