Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks will hit the road this fall in support of their new album, Mirror Traffic. The Oregon rockers will hit Boston’s Royale on Saturday, September 24. Tickets are now on sale through Ticketmaster for $20.

Released in August, Mirror Traffic is the first release from Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks since 2008’s Real Emotional Trash. Powered by singles “Senator” and “Share The Red,” this latest album marks the band’s first collaboration with producer Beck (The White Stripes, The Flaming Lips). It is also the last to feature drummer Janet Weiss, who has since joined Wild Flag (Jake Morris of the Joggers will take over on drums during the tour).

“Well, it was more fun than the last one,” Malkmus said of recording the album in an recent interview with Exclaim!. “Generally, it just was kind of quick and pretty fun. It was less work than some albums I’ve done.”

Malkmus was also grateful for Beck’s contribution to Mirror Traffic. “It was just great to have someone there that’s positive, saying ‘okay, we’re going to take this ship home’, and to not have to bother yourself with the production side of things,” he said. “You just play and be yourself, be more your musical self than your technical self, which I suppose can cloud up your vision or your performances a little bit.”
