Stars reveal plans for new album, fall tour

Stars have revealed plans for a fall tour in support of their forthcoming album, North. The Canadian indie rockers will hit Boston for a show at the Paradise Rock Club on Friday, September 21. Tickets for the show, which will also feature openers Diamond Rings and California Wives, are now on sale through Ticketmaster for $25. For each ticket purchased, fans will receive a digital copy of the album on its release day, as well as an immediate download of its lead single.

North, the band’s sixth full-length album, will hit stores on September 4. The album was recorded in Montreal’s historic RCA Victor Studios and was produced by Stars, Graham Lessard and Marcus Paquin (Arcade Fire). Fans can get a taste of North with a trio of songs the band has released: “Backlines”, “Hold On When You Get Love And Let Go When You Give It” and “The Theory of Relativity” Each of the songs is streaming below.

“Musically, thematically and lyrically, The North is the essential distillation of everything we’ve been working on for a long time,” declared lead singer Torquil Campbell in a press release.
