Stanley Clarke teams up with Victor Wooten for tour

In what is sure to be a must-see show for jazz fans this spring, renowned bass players Stanley Clarke and Victor Wooten are teaming up for a co-headlining tour with their respective bands. The two will make their way Massachusetts for a show at Boston’s Royale on Thursday, March 24. Tickets for the show are now on sale through Ticketmaster for $27.

The Stanley Clarke Band will be touring in support of their 2010 self-titled release, which just won the Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Jazz Album. Clarke also earned a Grammy Award nomination for Best Pop Instrumental Performance with “No Mystery”. His band includes Ruslan Sirota on keyboard, Ronald Bruner Jr. on drums and Hiromi on piano. Clarke, whose has delivered over 40 albums and 60 film scores, is also well known for his role in the jazz-fusion group Return to Forever.

Wooten, a five-time Grammy Award winner, will celebrate the fifteenth anniversary of his acclaimed debut album A Show of Hands by reissuing a re-mastered version with bonus tracks entitled A Show of Hands 15 on March. Also known for his work with Béla Fleck and the Flecktones, Wooten’s last solo album was 2008’s Palmystery. The Victor Wooten band is comprised of Wooten on bass and vocals Regi Wooten on guitar and vocals, Joseph Wooten on keyboards and vocals, and Derico Watson on drums and vocals.
