Spiritualized have announced plans for a stateside tour this spring in support of their forthcoming album, Sweet Heart Sweet Light. The psychedelic English rockers led by mastermind Jason “J. Spaceman” Pierce will visit Boston for a show at the Paradise Rock Club on Wednesday, May 9. Tickets for the show are now on sale through Ticketmaster for $22.

Sweet Heart Sweet Light, Spiritualized’s seventh studio album and follow-up to 2008’s Songs in A&E, will be released on April 17. The band spent two years recording the album in Los Angeles, Reykjavik, and Wales, before Pierce worked another year mixing it at home. Sweet Heart Sweet Light features lead single “Hey Jane”.

“When you make a record, it has to be the single most important thing in your world,” he said in a press release. “This time around, I wanted to do something that encompassed all I love in rock ‘n’ roll music. It’s got everything from Brotzmann and Berry right through to Dennis and Brian Wilson. I’m obsessed with music and the way you put it together and I don’t believe there are any rules.”
