Soulive to close out tour with special Boston shows

Soulive will close out 2010 and ring in 2011 with a pair of shows in Boston. The band will bring their “Rubber Soulive” tour to a close over two consecutive nights at the Paradise Rock Club on Thursday, December 30 and Friday, December 31. Tickets for both shows are now on sale through Ticketmaster with the Thursday show going for $20 and Friday’s show going for $40. The Shady Horns (Sam Kinninger, Ryan Zoidis) and Nigel Hall will open both shows.

The jazz/funk trio from Woodstock, New York are touring in support of their Beatles tribute album RubberSoulive. The 11-track instrumental ode was released in September. Rubber Soulive was recorded at band member Alan Evans’ Play On Brother Studios in Western Massachusetts. The group’s last offering of all new original material was 2009’s Up Here.

A limited number of VIP passes for the New Year’s Eve show are also being sold for $75. The “Rage Pass” includes a commemorative “Rager” laminate, meet & greet, champagne toast, digital download of the show and a signed poster.
