Silversun Pickups have revealed plans to embark on a fall tour in support their new album, Neck of The Woods. The Los Angeles-based rockers will make their way to Boston for a performance at the Orpheum Theatre on Wednesday, October 17. Tickets for the show, which will also feature openers Cloud Nothings and Atlas Genius, will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster for $35.

Neck of the Woods, Silversun Pickups’s third studio release and follow-up to 2009’s Swoon, debuted at #6 on the Billboard 200 after its release in May. It topped Billboard’s Alternative Albums and Independent Albums chart, and reached #2 on the Rock Albums chart. The album was produced by Jacknife Lee (R.E.M., Snow Patrol). The video for lead single “Bloody Mary (Nerve Endings)” is streaming below.

“There’s a playfulness,” said singer/guitarist/songwriter Brian Aubert of Neck of the Woods in a press release, “a certain kind of freethinking experimentation that we were fooling around with. We wanted to just let it all fly.”

Silversun Pickups is comprised of Aubert, bassist Nikki Monninger, keyboardist Joe Lester, and drummer Christopher Guanlao. The band also announced that Monninger is pregnant and expecting twin girls later this year. She’ll keep touring in the fall for as long as it’s possible, then Sarah Negahdari from the band The Happy Hollows will be fill in.

Following the show in Boston, Silversun Pickups will perform at the Webster Theatre in Hartford, Connecticut on October 19.
