Shooter Jennings to play The Sinclair

Shooter Jennings’ ongoing tour in support of his brand new album The Other Life will stop in Massachusetts next month. The country and southern rocker will play The Sinclair in Cambridge on Wednesday, July 3. Tickets for the show, which will also feature local standouts Glenn Yoder and the Western States, are available through Ticketmaster for $20.

The Other Life, Jennings’ sixth studio effort and follow-up to 2012’s Family Man, debuted at #19 on the Billboard 200 after its release in March. He recorded the album with his backing band “The Triple Crown”, featuring renowned jazz pianist Erik Deutsch, guitarist Chris Masterson, drummer Tony Leone, bassist Jeff Hill, pedal steel player John Graboff. It includes collaborations with Patty Griffin, Scott H. Biram and Black Oak Arkansas frontman Jim “Dandy” Mangrum. The lyric video for “The Gunslinger” is streaming below.

Along with the release of the album, Jennings teamed up with filmmaker Blake Judd for a short film of the same name. Shot across Tennessee, Kentucky, Nevada and California, “The Other Life” film “paints a story of isolation, temptation and rebirth through visual storytelling”. Jennings has been premiering the film at a series of screenings over the past few months. Fans can watch the trailer here.

Jennings is also set to co-produce a film based on his father, legendary outlaw country icon Waylon Jennings. The biopic is schedule to go into production in 2014 and will focus on Waylon’s groundbreaking years when he fought the Nashville establishment and his own personal demons to define the popular Outlaw movement.
