Longtime Massachusetts-based indie rockers Sebadoh have revealed plans for a homecoming show in support of their forthcoming album, Defend Yourself. The band will perform at The Sinclair in Cambridge on Monday, November 4. Tickets for the show will go on sale Friday at noon through Ticketmaster for $18.

Defend Yourself, Sebadoh’s ninth studio album and first since 1999’s The Sebadoh, will hit stores on September 17. According to a press release announcing the new album, the trio of Lou Barlow, Jason Loewenstein and Bob D’Amico have produced their “most sonically-engaging albums to date”. The decision to record Defend Yourself came shortly after the band’s successful tour celebrate the reissue of 1994’s Bakesale in 2011.

“We had good chemistry as a 3 piece, Bob & Jake had been playing together for years & along with my 20 year history with Jake, D’Amico’s contribution to the lineup was just a good fit,” explained Barlow. “A new record had always been something we knew we would get around to doing and the pieces finally seemed to fall in place. My experience with the Dinosaur Jr. post-reunion albums had shown that it was best to just get on with it, drop any fears of not surpassing the band’s earlier work and just make some new songs to play live and share with the people who still care about us.”
