The Sam Roberts Band have announced plans for a winter tour in support of their forthcoming album, Lo-Fantasy. The Canadian rockers will kick the stateside trek off next month with a Boston show scheduled for Great Scott on Wednesday, February 19. Tickets for the show are now on sale through Ticketmaster for $15.

Lo-Fantasy, Sam Roberts Band’s sixth studio effort and follow-up to 2011’s Collider, will be released on February 11. Working for the first time with producer Youth (a.k.a. Martin Glover), the band recorded the album in their native Montreal in just twelve days.

“This album is fundamentally different from anything we’ve ever done,” explained Roberts in a press release. “We worked insanely long hours, and after three days of that you’re almost in a hallucinogenic state. Youth would be in the control room with his Hawaiian shirt unbuttoned, dancing and doing oil painting interpretations of the songs while we were recording, and we’re thinking, ‘My God we’ve got a madman at the helm!'”

Fans can get a taste of Lo-Fantasy with “Shapeshifters”, which is streaming below.
