Rush to hit the TD Garden in September

Legendary progressive rock band Rush will bring “The Time Machine Tour” to Boston’s TD Garden on Tuesday, September 14. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $47.50 up to $122.50, go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster.

Rush, who are currently working on their 20th album, plan to not only perform some of their classic songs and unreleased material from their yet unnamed album on the forthcoming tour, but also their classic album Moving Pictures in its entirety. Moving Pictures features some of the bands biggest hits, such as “Tom Sawyer”, “Limelight” and the Grammy-nominated instrumental “YYZ”. The 1981 album still remains Rush’s most popular and has been certified 4X platinum, selling well over 4 million copies.

“We were off for a year and a half, and now it’s just pouring,” said guitarist Alex Lifeson in a press release. “Everything is totally crazy and there’s not a minute left in the day. We’ve got these half-dozen songs, and we’ll probably go in the studio and work on a couple of them and see how it goes, perhaps release something – and I say perhaps – and then we plan on being on the road.”

Prior to the band’s Boston show, New England fans can catch Rush perform at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut on Monday, July 19. Tickets are now on sale through Ticketmaster for $70 and $90.
