Robert Plant to bring joy to Boston

, Staff

Robert Plant has revealed plans to embark on a solo tour of the United States next year. The legendary rocker will make his way to Massachusetts for a special show at Boston’s House of Blues on Tuesday, January 25. Tickets for the show will go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. through Live Nation for $55 and $75. The North Mississippi Allstars will open the show.

This will mark Plant’s first tour on these shores since the release of his latest album, Band of Joy. Released in September, the folk-rock/Americana fueled album is the Led Zeppelin frontman’s ninth studio effort. At radio, Band of Joy‘s lead single “Angel Dance” has been growing at Triple A steadily since its release. It’s been Top 10 since August, Top 5 since September, and #1 for the last two weeks and counting.

Plant’s touring band will once again be the same that made Band of Joy: Patty Griffin (vocals), Darrell Scott (multi instrumentalist/vocals), Byron House (bass/vocals), Marco Giovino (drums and percussion/vocals) and co-producer Buddy Miller (guitar/vocals).

In addition to his show in Boston, Plant will play the MGM Grand Theatre at Foxwoods Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut on Friday, January 28.
