Rihanna reveals plans for summer tour
Rihanna has revealed plans for her summer tour, dubbed “Last Girl On Earth”. The tour will make its way to Massachusetts for a show at the Comcast Center in Mansfield on Sunday, August 8. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $24.75 to $99.75, go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. through Live Nation. Rising pop star Ke$ha will open the show.
The multi-platinum and Grammy award winning superstar will be touring in support of her fourth studio album Rated R. Released last November, the album debuted atop the Billboard R&B Albums chart at #1. It follows her 2007 double-platinum album Good Girl Gone Bad. The 22-year old Barbados native recently broke a Billboard record with her current number one single “Rude Boy,” becoming the only female artist of the past decade to have six #1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the United States.
“We’ve never done a tour to this capacity,” Rihanna explained in a recent interview with AOL. “The production is unbelievable and the costumes, we just took it to a whole new level. Visually and sonically it’s going to be a big step up from the last time. We just keep growing and this time it is a massive production that I cannot wait for.”
