Richie Ramone will soon embark on a tour in support of his brand new album, Entitled. The drummer for legendary punk rockers The Ramones will bring his band to Massachusetts for a show at the Middle East Upstairs in Cambridge on Tuesday, February 18. Tickets for the show are now on sale through TicketWeb for $14. Opening the show will be New England standouts The Connection and The Gobshites.

Entitled, Ramone’s debut solo album, was released in September. Born Richard Reinhardt, Ramone was a member of the Ramones from 1983 to 1987 and was the only drummer to compose and write with the band. Entitled comes over 25 years after his last album with The Ramones, 1987’s Halfway to Sanity. Ramone produced the album, which features 12 tracks – four Ramones tracks he originally penned and re-recorded and eight new originals. Lead single “Criminal” is streaming below.

“The new songs all came about in the last two years,” explained Ramone in an interview with the Glendale News-Press last fall. “Songwriting is about an emotion that strikes you, and I’ll write ideas down but I don’t finish a song until I have a purpose, so I completed all of these for the album.”

Ramone, who handles lead vocals and drums, is backed by Alex Kane (lead guitar, vocals), Clare Misstake (bass guitar, vocals) and Ben Reagan (rhythm guitar, drums).

In related news, Ramone contributed to The Gobshites’ forthcoming album The Whistle Before the Snap.

Fans in Rhode Island can catch Ramone perform at Dusk in Providence on Monday, February 12.
