Ray Davies, who was scheduled to perform at Boston’s Wilbur Theatre on Sunday night, has canceled his stateside tour. Refunds are available at the point of purchase.

According to a message on his official website, the tour’s cancellation came after Davies was “ordered by his doctors not to fly or embark on the accompanying ground travel for the forthcoming four US dates until his medical condition has stabilized to their satisfaction. The doctors could not provide a time frame for this and advised Ray to cancel the dates.”

The Kinks frontman was scheduled to tour in support of his album, See My Friends, which was just released in Europe and will hit stores in North America in 2011. The new release is an album of classic Kinks songs turned into unique collaborations with an impressive array of special guests including Bruce Springsteen, Metallica, Jackson Browne, Mumford & Sons and more. The project kick-started when Davies recorded a version of “Till The End Of The Day” in the summer of 2009 with Alex Chilton.
