Ra Ra Riot have announced plans for a headlining tour this fall. The band will make their way to Boston for a show at Royale on Friday, October 1 with opening acts Chikita Violenta and We Barbarians. Tickets for the show are now on sale now through Ticketmaster for $18.

The Syracuse-bred band will drop their sophomore album, The Orchard, on August 24, nearly two years to the day after the release of their debut album, The Rhumb Line. The band is currently offering the album’s lead single, “Boy” as a free download on their official website. Fans can also purchase the song through iTunes along with a cover of Sparks’ “Saccarin and the War” and “Keep it Quiet (Bear)”. The Orchard will be issued in a number of special editions, in addition to standard and digital version, including a limited colored vinyl as well as a bonus DVD a 38 minute behind-the-scenes look at the making of the album.

The Orchard was produced by Ra Ra RiotĀ  and Andrew Maury and mixed by Chris Walla (with the exception of “Do You Remember,” which was mixed by VampireĀ  Weekend’s Rostam Batmanglij). The new album will also mark the debut of drummer Gabriel Duquette, who has been touring with the band since the release of The Rhumb Line.
