Queens of the Stone Age map fall tour
Queens of the Stone Age have revealed plans for a fall tour in support of their first album in six years, …Like Clockwork. Led by frontman Josh Homme, the hard rockers will hit Boston for a performance at the Agganis Arena on Friday, December 13. Tickets for the concert, which will also feature openers The Kills, will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster for $39.50 and $49.50.
…Like Clockwork, Queens of the Stone Age’s sixth studio effort and follow-up to 2007’s Era Vulgaris, debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 after its release in June. It also hit #1 in Australia, Ireland and Portugal, while reaching the top ten in a dozen other countries. Self-produced by the band and recorded at Homme’s home studio in Burbank, California, it is the first Queens of the Stone Age album to feature full contributions from bassist Michael Shuman and keyboardist and guitarist Dean Fertita, who both joined the band in 2007.
Among the handful of special guest collaborators on …Like Clockwork are Elton John, Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters and Nirvana, Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails, Alex Turner of Arctic Monkeys, Jake Shears of Scissor Sisters. It also features singles “My God Is the Sun” and “I Sat by the Ocean” (streaming below).
