Prince makes special plans for Mohegan Sun

Prince has revealed plans for a special trip to New England to close out the year. The legendary rocker will perform a special three night stand at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut beginning on Friday, December 27, continuing on Saturday, December 28 and concluding on Sunday, December 29. Tickets for each of the shows will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster for $125 and $165. The shows will mark Prince’s first in New England in over ten years.

With a career spanning four decades, the iconic Prince has won seven Grammy awards and sold over 100 million copies of albums including his classics Purple Rain and Sign “O” the Times. Prince has working in the studio recording new music with his 21-piece super group The New Power Generation and his rock band 3rdEyeGirl featuring guitarist Donna Grantis, bassist Ida Nielsen and drummer Hannah Ford. A 3rdEyeGirl album entitled Plectrum Electrum is expected to be released in early 2014. Fans can get a taste of the new material with singles “Breakfast Can Wait” (video is streaming below) and “Da Bourgeoisie” (download it here).

In October, nearly 2,000 fans showed up for a “Breakfast Experience Pajama Dance Party” in suburban Minnesota for a party at his home Paisley Park studio. For a $50 donation, fans were allowed to enter the grounds at 2 a.m. and were later treated to a lengthy set and the serving of pancakes.
