Organizers for Calling All Crows have revealed plans for the non-profit organization’s sixth annual benefit weekend. Co-founder Chadwick Stokes of Dispatch and State Radio fame will host a concert with friends at the Paradise Rock Club on Saturday, December 21. Tickets for the show are now on sale through Ticketmaster for $25.

Prior to the show, fans are encouraged to participate in a service project. The event will take place for two or more hours between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. and details (i.e. specific hours, address, partner organization, etc.) will be emailed to all registrants one week before the project. No experience is necessary and service supplies will be provided for all volunteers. To reserve a spot at the project, a $10 non-refundable donation is requested ($5 will go directly to the partnering organization and $5 will be used to help offset the costs of service supplies). New to the benefit weekend will be the launch of the Calling All Crows’ Music and Lecture Series on Friday, December 20. Hosted by Stokes and co-founder Sybil Gallagher, the event is being billed as a “night of music, discussion and community-building”. Tickets for the limited space event are available through the organization’s website for $20. Tickets are $20 with proceeds benefiting Calling All Crows. The address of the event will be emailed to ticket buyers the week of the event.

Proceeds from the weekend support Calling All Crows mission of partnering with musicians and fans to create change through hands-on service and activism, with a specific interest in promoting women’s rights.

Since December 2008, Calling All Crows has raised over $250,000 to empower women in Sudan and Afghanistan and has invested more than 17,000 hours of service in local communities across North America and Europe.
