Phoenix to play Boston’s Agganis Arena

Phoenix have announced plans to hit the United States this fall for a nationwide tour in support of their new album, Bankrupt!. The alt-rockers from France will swing through Massachusetts and perform at the Agganis Arena in Boston on Tuesday, October 1. Tickets for the show, which will also feature openers The Vaccines, will go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster for $49.50.

Bankrupt!, Phoenix’s fifth studio effort and follow-up to 2009’s Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, debuted at #4 on the Billboard 200 after its release in April. It also topped Billboard’s Alternative, Rock and Independent Albums charts. Co-produced by the band and Philippe Zdar, the album was recorded in Paris and New York. The video for lead single “Entertainment” is streaming below.

Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix won the band a Grammy Award for Best Alternative Album, and has since been certified Gold.
