Phil Anselmo will take to the road for his first-ever solo tour later this month. Touring in support of his debut solo album Walk Through Exits Only, the frontman for metal legends Pantera and more recently Down will bring his “Technicians of Distortion” to Massachusetts for a night at The Palladium in Worcester on Tuesday, August 13. Tickets for the show are now on sale through on $25. Warbeast, Author & Punisher, Vivisepulture, Black Mass and Eyes Of The Dead will also perform.

Walk Through Exits Only is scheduled to hit stores on July 16. Co-produced by Anselmo and Michael Thompson, the album was recorded over the past couple of years in New Orleans studio. Joining Anselmo on the album and upcoming tour, is his backing band The Illegals which features guitarist Marzi Montazeri and drummer Jose Manuel “Blue” Gonzale.

“It wasn’t about doing a paint-by-numbers thrash or heavy metal record,” Anselmo said of the album in a press release. “It’s an angry album that only I could do.  I don’t see anybody else out there screaming about the same shit I’m screaming about.  On this album, there isn’t any wordplay, there isn’t any hidden message, it’s all right there in front of you.”
