Peter Wolf to play Providence

Peter Wolf, lead singer of Boston’s J. Geils Band and one of rock music’s legendary showmen, has revealed plans to tour in support of his new solo album, Midnight Souvenirs. Wolf will close out the brief tour by rocking Lupo’s Heartbreak Hotel in Providence, Rhode Island on Sunday, May 23. Midnight Souvenirs, which was released last month, is Wolf’s seventh solo studio effort and first since 2002’s Sleepless. The new album features special guests Merle Haggard, Shelby Lynne, and Neko Case. Wolf’s backing band is comprised of Duke Levine (guitar), Kevin Barry (guitar), Marty Ballou (bass), Marty Richards (drums) and Jonathan Carroll (keyboards). Wolf will kick off his spring tour this Sunday in Londonderry, New Hampshire with a show at Tupelo Music Hall. He’ll also play the Iron Horse Music Hall in Northampton on Tuesday, May 11.
