Tres Mts., a new musical project comprised of bassist Jeff Ament of Pearl Jam, vocalist and guitarist dUg Pinnick of King’s X and drummer Richard Stuverud of The Fastbacks, will hit the road on a 5-city tour in March. Mike McCready of Pearl Jam, who plays guitar on the band’s forthcoming debut album, will join the band on the tour. They’ll hit Boston’s Paradise Rock Club on Sunday, March 27. Tickets for the show are now on sale through Ticketmaster for $20.

“I first saw dUg Pinnick sing and play in 1989 with his band Kings X at the Central Tavern. Three years later, I asked them to open some shows for Pearl Jam and we quickly became friends,” said Ament in a press release explaining the band’s history. “I always joked, ‘when are we gonna make that heavy R & B record, you and me?’ In 2001, dUg joined Richard Stuverud and me in one of our yearly writing sessions in Montana and again in 2004 with McCready. After a few years of crossed up schedules, in 2010, we finally mixed the baker’s dozen songs that make up Tres Mts. These guys are all monsters and this batch of tunes is gonna be fun to play live.”

The Seattle rockers will release their debut album, Three Mountains, through Pearl Jam’s Monkeywrench Records on Tuesday, March 8. “My Baby”, Three Mountains, is now available as a free download through the band’s website. While on the road, Tres Mts. are scheduled to perform as the musical guest on NBC’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on Thursday, March 24.
