Paul Simon to play the Citi Wang Theatre

Paul Simon has revealed plans for a spring tour in support of his forthcoming album, So Beautiful or So What. The tour will conclude in Massachusetts with a show at the Citi Wang Theatre in Boston on Wednesday, June 1. Tickets, which range in price from $55 to $115, go on sale Saturday at noon through Telecharge.

So Beautiful or So What, Simon’s twelfth studio effort and first in five years, will hit stores on  April 12. Produced by Phil Ramone and Paul Simon, with liner notes written by Elvis Costello, the album is one of the most highly anticipated releases of the year. Fans can get a taste of So Beautiful or So What with the album’s lead single, “The Afterlife”, which is streaming below.

Fans attending the Boston can expect a diverse set list of material including greatest hits and new songs off So Beautiful or So What, as well several songs that haven’t been performed live in many years.

Simon’s backing band on this tour will include Cameroonian guitarist Vincent Nguini, drummer Jim Oblon, pianist Mick Rossi, saxophonist/keyboardist Andrew Snitzer, bassist Bakithi Kumalo, guitarist Mark Stewart, master percussionist Jamey Haddad and multi-instrumentalist Tony Cedras.

In related news, Simon will appear two consecutive nights, April 6 and 7, on NBC’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
