In what is sure to be one of the most highly anticipated tours of 2014, Paul Simon and Sting will join forces for a co-headlining tour. The legendary performers will team up for a tour of North America in February and March, with a stop in Boston planned. The two will perform at the TD Garden on Monday, March 3. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $40 to $250, will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster.

Fans can expect Simon and Sting to perform full sets with their own bands before teaming up to perform each others’ material together to close out the night.

The idea for the tour came about after the two performed together at a benefit concert in May for the Robin Hood Foundation, where they sang duets of Simon’s “The Boxer” and Sting’s “Fields of Gold”. The two repeated the collaboration again in June during Sting’s summer tour stop in Atlantic City.

While Simon has no new material to promote (his last studio release was 2011’s So Beautiful or So What), while Sting will be touring in support of his brand new album, The Last Ship. The singer’s eleventh studio release and follow-up to 2010’s Symphonicities was released in September and was inspired by Sting’s forthcoming play of the same name, which will debut on Broadway next year.
