Paul McCartney will return to Boston this summer to play Fenway Park. The legendary singer will perform at the historic ballpark on Tuesday, July 9. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $74.50 to $255, will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through No tickets will be available at the Fenway Park box office.

The Boston show, which is being billed as “one night only”, is the first confirmed U.S. date of his all new 2013 “Out There” tour, which promises a lengthy 3-hour set spanning his entire career as a solo artist, member of Wings and of course, The Beatles.

McCartney is currently working on a new solo album with producers Mark Ronson, Ethan Johns, Paul Epworth and Giles Martin. No release date has been set but is expected to hit stores sometime this year. His last studio effort was 2012’s Kisses on the Bottom, which won a Grammy Award for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album earlier this year.

According to a press release, the “Out There” tour will see McCartney and his band travel the world throughout the year, visiting “both places of historical significance to Paul and new spots for the very first time”. McCartney’s backing band, who have performed with him for over ten years now, is comprised of Paul “Wix” Wickens (keyboards), Rusty Anderson (guitar), Abe Laboriel Jr. (drums) and Brian Ray (bass/guitar).

McCartney previously performed two sold out shows at Fenway Park in August of 2009, which set the record for the highest ever two-day concert attendance in the history of the ballpark. Fenway Park will also host sold out co-headlining concerts from Jason Aldean and Miranda Lambert in July and Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z in August.
