Patriot Place to host Battle of the High School Bands on Sunday

, Staff

After a rain-out last weekend, Patriot Place will host the first annual High School Band Brawl on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event, which is part of the Rock the Plaza series, will feature nine high school bands from Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and Maine performing 15 minute sets of original music in hope of earning the title of New England’s best high school band.

Sunday’s High School Band Brawl will feature the following bands: Hudlin, Tom Flash & The Lightning Band, Fyve, Psycho Circus, Fair 2 Say, The Jacob Lentner Band, Cadence, SPANG and the Jessica Prouty Band, who won an automatic bid to the battle by winning the Notes For The Cure – A Benefit for Children’s Hospital Generation Cures battle earlier this year.

A panel of judges will select the winner based on overall sound, stage presentation and fan support and reaction. The winning band will receive a donation to its high school’s music program, a chance to open for local favorites Keep Me Conscious and a guest spot on WBZ-TV’s Totally Patriots television program.
