How big are One Direction? So big, that they have already announced plans for a major tour of North America next year. The British-Irish boy band have revealed plans for a 2013 summer tour that will include the group’s first show in Massachusetts. The group will perform at the the Comcast Center in Mansfield on Wednesday, June 26, 2013. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $79.50 to $89.50, will go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. through Live Nation.

One Direction decided to announce a 2013 summer tour after the band’s December show at Madison Square Garden sold out in less than 10 minutes, and their brief run of U.S. tour dates for May and June sold out almost as quickly.

“Our fans are simply the best in the world,” said singer Niall Horan in a press release. “The support they have shown us has been incredible and we’re all so grateful to each and every one of them.”

One Direction gained instant fame after appearing on The X Factor UK. Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson auditioned as solo artists, but formed a band at the suggestion of Simon Cowell. Their debut album Up All Night entered the charts at #1 in 14 countries. Released to fans in the United States last month, Up All Night topped the US Billboard 200 chart, making them the first British band to hit the #1 spot with a debut release. The album features singles “What Makes You Beautiful”, “Gotta Be You” and “One Thing”.
