In what is sure to be a treat for indie rock fans, Okkervil River will hit the road this summer with Titus Andronicus. The two band will make their way to Boston for a show at Royale on Wednesday, June 8. Tickets for the show are now on sale through Ticketmaster for $18. Future Island will open the show.

Okkervil River will be touring in support of their forthcoming album, I Am Very Far. The album, the Texas-based indie rockers’ sixth studio effort, follows 2008’s The Stand Ins. Produced by lead singer Will Sheff, I Am Very Far was recorded through a series of sessions in their hometown of Austin, as well as Connecticut and Brooklyn. Last year, they recorded and served as the backing band for Roky Erickson on his album, True Love Cast Out All Evil.

Titus Andronicus continue to tour in support of last year’s The Monitor. Released in March of 2010, the New Jersey-based band’s sophomore effort earned loads of critical acclaim. The Monitor is concept album loosely based on themes relating to the Civil War. Members of local favorites Hallelujah the Hills contributed to the album, returning a favor for Titus Andronicus efforts on HTH’s sophomore album Colonial Drones.
