Noel Gallagher to bring new project to Boston
Noel Gallagher has revealed plans for his post-Oasis project. Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds will cross the pond for a stateside tour this fall in support of their forthcoming self-titled debut album. Fans in Boston can catch Gallagher at the Citi Wang Theatre on Saturday, November 12. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $35 to $75, will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Telecharge.
The band will be touring in support of their debut album Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, which will be released through his own label Sour Mash Records on November 8. The album was recorded in London and completed in Los Angeles during 2010 and the first half of 2011. It was co-produced by Noel Gallagher and Dave Sardy, who produced the last Oasis album, 2008’s Dig Out Your Soul. The album’s first U.S. single will be “If I Had A Gun”. Fans can pre-order an autographed copy of Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds through Newbury Comics.
In addition to premiering songs off the new album, Gallagher stated at a press conference earlier this summer that he would be performing classic Oasis tracks as well. “I’m proud of them and of what they mean to people,” he said of the Oasis repertoire. “I’ll never do a gig without playing them. They’re like drugs to me.”
And when asked by his manager who the High Flying Birds are, Gallagher responded “They aren’t anyone in particular. Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds is me and whoever is around at the time of whatever it is that I’m doing, a loose collective kinda thing.”
Fans can watch the press conference in its entirety below.
Gallagher is also collaborating with Amorphous Androgynous for an album that is due for release in 2012.
