Noel Gallagher to return stateside with his High Flying Birds

With a new album on the way, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds will take flight on a stateside tour this summer. The founding member of Oasis will lead his new band to Boston for a performance at the Opera House on Saturday, June 6. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $35 to $75, will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Telecharge.

Chasing Yesterday, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds’ sophomore album, will be released on March 3. It will mark the first album to be both written and produced by Gallagher, and is said to feature a much broader array of instrumentation than its 2011 self-titled predecessor.

“It was a major pain in the arse,” said Gallagher of producing Chasing Yesterday in a press release. “It’s not that I’ve ever had people telling me what to write or what direction to go in, but managing sessions from one end of the week to the other proved extremely difficult. I had all these people looking at me and saying: ‘right, what are we doing today?’ I was making the whole thing up as I went along.”

Along with lead single “In The Heat Of The Moment” (streaming below), Chasing Yesterday features special guest Johnny Marr of The Smiths on “Ballad Of The Mighty I”.
