Iconic British singer-songwriter Nick Lowe has announced plans for his first American tour this century. Thankfully for Boston fans, the tour will include a stop at the Somerville Theatre on Friday, October 15. Tickets are now available through Live Nation for $35. Opeing the show will be fellow British singer-songwriter Graham Parker.

Lowe’s career played a pivotal role in pub rock during the 70s, and went on to pioneer punk rock and new wave music. He has released 12 studio albums since 1978, the most recent of which was 2007’s At My Age. Considered by Nick to be a trilogy of sorts, the three albums immediately preceding At My Age The Impossible Bird, Dig My Mood and The Convincer – will be pressed on vinyl for the first time ever and sold in stores om September 21.

On this fall tour, Lowe will be backed by a four-piece band comprised of Geraint Watkins on keyboards, Robert Trehern on drums, Johnny Scott on guitar and Matt Radford on bass.

Meanwhile, Parker will be touring in support of his new wave album Imaginary Television, which was released earlier this year.
