Organizers for the annual Newport Folk Festival have revealed the first batch of performers for this year’s event. The Lumineers and Andrew Bird highlight the initial list, which also includes Michael Kiwanuka, Shovels and Rope, Houndmouth, The Last Bison and The Lone Bellow. The 54th edition of the historic festival will take place from July 26 to 28 at Fort Adams State Park in Newport, Rhode Island.

Three-day passes for the 2013 Newport Folk Festival are already sold out. Fans can purchase a 2-day pass for Saturday and Sunday for $80 through Ticketmaster. Single-day tickets are also available for each day with Friday’s kick-off concert priced at $49 and Saturday and Sunday tickets priced at $80. All festival seating is general admission. Organizers will continue to reveal more performers over the next few months.

The Lumineers, who performed a sold out show at Boston’s House of Blues, earlier this week, have enjoyed a meteoric rise to fame thanks to the success of smash single “Ho Hey”. The Denver-based band has been nominated Best New Artist at this year’s Grammy Awards, as well as Best Americana Album for their 2012 self-titled album.

Bird continues to tour in support of his two 2012 releases Hands of Glory and Break It Yourself.
