Newport Folk Fest adds The Avett Brothers & more

The lineup for this summer’s Newport Folk Festival is heating up with The Avett Brothers, Colin Meloy of The Decemberists, Feist, Old Crow Medicine Show and Amanda Palmer highlighting the latest batch of performers announced by the festival’s organizers.

The 54th edition of the historic festival will take place from July 26 to 28 at Fort Adams State Park in Newport, Rhode Island. Organizers for the legendary festival have been rolling out the lineup for the last couple of months, revealing a new performer each day.

Rounding out the latest set of new additions are The Milk Carton Kids, Phosphorescent, Sarah Jarosz, Berklee Gospel & Roots Choir, Blake Mills, Justin Townes Earle, Cold Specks, Bonnie “Prince” Billy & Dawn McCarthy, John McCauley (of Deer Tick) and Lord Huron.

Previously announced performers include The Lumineers, Jim James, Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls, Andrew Bird, The Mountain Goats, Iris Dement, Father John Misty, Beth Orton, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, The Felice Brothers, JD McPherson, Kingsley Flood, Hurray For The Riff Raff, Jason Isbell, Nicki Bluhm and The Gramblers, Spirit Family Reunion, Michael Kiwanuka, Shovels and Rope, Houndmouth, The Last Bison, The Lone Bellow, Wheeler Brothers, Michael Hurley, Langhorne Slim & Law, Bombino, Black Praire, Hey Marseilles, Tift Merritt and Rayland Baxter.

All weekend passes and single day tickets, except for Friday (available through Ticketmaster for $49), are sold out. Organizers will continue to reveal more performers over the next few weeks.
