New-look Augustana to play Boston’s Paradise

A new-look version of pop-rockers Augustana will hit Boston later this month as the band tours in support of their self-titled fourth album. Original frontman Dan Layus will lead the band back to Boston for a show at the Paradise Rock Club on Tuesday, January 31. Tickets for the show, which will also feature openers Graffiti 6, are now on sale through Ticketmaster for $20.

Layus and fellow original members Justin South and Jared Palomar parted ways at the end of last summer. “It’s a sad thing, but it’s been an amicable split and it’s just kinda tough,” Layus explained in an interview last fall with RedBull’s The Rock Report. “It’s hard to keep a band together. We had a good run and it was a blast while we could do it, but everybody is good. Everybody is friends. It’s just tough to sustain a business like that.”

On the upcoming tour, Layus will perform alongside Jordan Lamoureux (bass guitar, vocals, keyboards), Jay Barclay (guitar) and David Lamoureux (drums, keyboards, mandolin, vocals). The band is expected to perform material from all four of the studio releases, including their latest self-titled album. Released last April, Augustana debuted at #29 on the Billboard 200. The video for lead single “Steal Your Heart” is streaming below.
