New Kids On The Block map tour with Backstreet Boys

In a tour that is sure to be ladies night out for women across the country, New Kids On The Black and the Backstreet Boys have mapped out a joint co-headlining tour for 2011. The legendary boy band groups will bring their”NKOTBSB” tour to Boston’s TD Garden on Saturday. June 4. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $32 to $92, will go on sale Saturday at 20 a.m. through Live Nation.

“It started when we got together at Radio City Music Hall a few months back,” explained the guys from New Kids On The Block when announcing the tour during a radio interview with Ryan Seacrest. “We wanted to do something big for the crowd in New York. So we got the Backstreet Boys to come down to Radio City and we put together a performance of ‘I Want It That Way’ in about five minutes. It was electric. Something happened when they came out on stage. The crowd went to a place that we never heard it go to before. We started talking, people started talking and it seemed right. It’s really just going to be an amazing night of pop music and pop culture.”

Prior to the show in Boston, New Kids On The Block and the Backstreet Boys will perform at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut on Thursday, June 2. Tickets for the show go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster for $75 and $95.

Last month, the two groups delivered their first joint televised performance when they closed out the 2010 American Music Awards.

Boston’s New Kids on the Block reunited in 2008 for a tour and the release of their first studio album in fourteen years, The Block. Backstreet Boys most recent release was 2009’s This Is Us, their second album without founding member Kevin Richardson.
