Nateva Festival adds Passion Pit, Drive-By Truckers and more

Organizers for this summer’s Nateva Music and Camping Festival in Northern Maine have added another slate of acts to the quickly growing bill for the inaugural four-day festival. 2009 BMS Band of the Year Passion Pit highlights the list of new performers along with Drive-By Truckers, She & Him, Grizzly Bear and Jakob Dylan & Three Legs.

A strong list of New England-based bands will also perform at Nateva including Rustic Overtones, Adam Ezra Group, Magic Magic, Roots of Creation, Nate Wilson Group, The McLovins, The Brew, You Can Be a Wesley, The Indobox,The Alchemystics, The Mallet Brothers, Nephrok! Allstars amd Billy Keane & the Misdemeanor Outlaws.

Other new acts include Ghostland Observatory, Jackie Greene, Crash Kings, Mark Karan’s Jemimah Puddleduck, Lettuce, Gypsy Tailwind, EOTO, Big Gigantic, The Constellations, Toubab Krewe, Bow Thayer & Perfect Trainwreck, The Kind Buds, The Heavy Pets, Grand Hotel and Mudseason.

Nateva will feature headliners moe. (July 2), The Flaming Lips (July 3) and Furthur (July 4) and take place on the 100-acre Oxford Fairgrounds in Oxford, Maine, which is about 2 1/2 hours north of Boston and 45 minutes from Portland, Maine. Previoulsy confirmed performers include The Derek Trucks & Susan Tedeschi Band, Zappa Plays Zappa, Keller Williams, STS9, George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, Umphrey’s McGee, Max Creek, The Felice Brothers, John Brown’s Body and Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad. Lotus will kick off the weekend with a special concert at the festival grounds on Thursday, July 1. Capacity for the festival will be capped at 15,000.

Weekend passes with camping are $249 and without camping $229 but can now be purchased for $199 and $179 thanks to a special advance sale has been extended through Friday, May 7 at Admission to the early kick-off show with Lotus will be $20 and only be sold to attendees with camping tickets. Children under 10 are free when accompanied by a paid adult. A limited number of VIP packages ($425) featuring special viewing platforms, preferred parking, camping, dining, a full-service bar, and more amenities are also available. As of now, there are no plans to sell individual single day tickets.
