Natasha Bedingfield has revealed plans for a summertime tour that will bring her to Massachusetts in June. The British pop singer will play the Somerville Theatre on Wednesday, June 8. Tickets for the show will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through the venue’s box office and website for $21. Kate Voegele and Andy Grammar will open the show.

The upcoming outing, dubbed the “Less Is More” tour, will feature Bedingfield performing her hits “stripped down” in an intimate setting. “I’m so excited and ready to go back on tour in the US to celebrate this new album,” Bedingfield said in a press release. “I always find inspiration in performing for my fans. There’s just something about being on the road and singing my songs live that is refreshing. It reminds me of why this is what I absolutely love.”

The Grammy Award-nominated singer-songwriter will be hitting the road in support her latest release, Strip Me. The album, her third studio effort and followup to 2008’s Pocket of Sunshine, was released last December. For Strip Me, Bedingfield teamed up with a production team full of hit-makers including John Shanks (Michelle Branch, Sheryl Crow), Ryan Tedder (OneRepublic, Kelly Clarkson), Wayne Wilkins (Beyonce, Jordin Sparks), John Hill(Shakira, Santigold) and Kleerup (Robyn, Cyndi Lauper).

The Boston show will be just the second of the 29-date trek, which kicks off in Northampton at the Pearl Street Nightclub on Tuesday, June 5. Tickets for the show will go on sale Friday through for $20.

In related news, Bedingfield is also slated to be a guest judge on Bravo’s new songwriting competition series “Platinum Hit”. The show, which will be hosted by Kara DioGuardi and Jewel, premieres May 30.
