Mumford & Sons make big plans for Boston

Mumford & Sons have announced a small run of shows on the East Coast this winter in support of their new album, Babel. The English folk rockers will stop in Massachusetts for a concert at the TD Garden in Boston on Tuesday, February 5. Tickets for the show will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster for $39.99 and $49.99.

Babel, Mumford & Sons’ sophomore album and follow-up to 2009’s Sigh No More, debuted at #1 on the Billboard 2000 after its release in September. Produced by Markus Dravs, it has been powered by singles “I Will Wait” and “Lover of the Light”. The band teamed up with British actor Idris Elba for the video to “Lover of the Light”, which is streaming below.

“As a band, we’ve never been closer or more collaborative, all working to our strengths,” the band declared in a press release. “And so we feel that this record is a natural progression that we’re proud of, and we cannot wait to take it out on the road.”

In January, Mumford & Sons will release a live DVD called “The Road To Red Rocks”. The film captures performances from the band’s two sold out concerts at the historic Colorado venue, as well as interviews and footage with the band recorded during their “Gentlemen of the Road” summer tour.
