Mumford & Sons announce Massachusetts concert

With a new album on the way, Mumford & Sons have revealed plans for a Massachusetts concert as part of their growing summer tour plans. The English rockers will stop in Mansfield for a performance at the Xfinity Center on Monday, June 8. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $45 to $65, will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Live Nation. The Maccabees will also perform.

Wilder Mind, Mumford & Sons’ forthcoming third studio album, will be released on May 4. Produced in London by James Ford (Arctic Monkeys, Florence & The Machine), and recorded at AIR Studios in London, Wilder Mind features twelve new tracks written collaboratively by the band in London, Texas, and at Aaron Dessner’s (The National) garage studios in Brooklyn. The follow-up to 2012’s Grammy Award-winning Babel is being described as a collection of songs that place new emphasis on percussion and focused guitar-work. The new sonic direction was a conscious decision by the band with frontman Marcus Mumford describing it in a press release as “a development, not a departure”.

Wilder Mind‘s lead single “Believe” has already hit #1 on at alternative rock radio and fans can get another taste of the new material with “The Wolf”, which is streaming below. Fans who pre-order the new album will receive both tracks as instant downloads.

Mumford & Sons’ summer tour through North America will feature headlining appearances at a handful of notable festivals including Bonnaroo and Outside Lands, as well as their own “Gentlemen of the Road Stopovers” festivals.
