Lauryn Hill to hit Boston in February

Ms. Lauryn Hill, former member of the Fugees and one of R&B’s top vocalists, has announced plans to perform at the House of Blues in Boston on Thursday, February 23. Tickets for the show are now on sale through Live Nation for $57.50 and $75.

After only performing a handful of shows over the past few years, Hill returned to the spotlight in 2010 for a rare tour, festival appearances and a new single “Repercussions”. She was scheduled to perform at the Comcast Center last summer as part of the Rock The Bells festival until the traveling festival’s Massachusetts show was cancelled.

The former member of the Fugees launched her solo career in 1998 with the release of her critically acclaimed debut album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. The album earned Hill five Grammy Awards, including the Album of the Year and Best New Artist. Hill has not released a new album since, though has contributed some new tracks to various soundtracks. Rumors regarding a new album release in 2012 continue to mount, though nothing has been confirmed.

Hill was most recently in New England for a performance at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut last month.
