Motley Crue map summer tour with Poison

In what is sure to be a must-see show for 80’s glam/hair metal rock fans, Motely Crue will join forces with Poison for a summer outing this year. The tour, which will also feature the New York Dolls in the opening slot, will make its way to Massachusetts for a show at the Comcast Center in Mansfield on Tuesday, July 19. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $25 to $95, will go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. through Live Nation.

Motley Crue, who will rock the headlining set on all dates, are celebrating their 30th anniversary. The band’s last studio release was 2008’s Saints of Los Angeles. Their last two summer shows in town were part of their own traveling festival dubbed “Cruefest”, which featured more contemporary hard rock bands such as Godsmack, Buckcherry, Theory of a Deadman and Papa Roach.

Poison are celebrating their 25th anniversary will release a new greatest hits compilation, Double Dose Of Poison: Ultimate Hits, on May 3. The double album will be comprised of 35 of the band’s top hits and fan favorites.

The New York Dolls, led by surviving original members David Johansen and Sylvain Sylvain, will be touring in support of their brand new album Dancing Backward in High Heels. Released on Tuesday, the new album is the band’s fifth studio effort and follows 2009’s Cause I Sez So. It was recorded in Newcastle, England and produced by Louis XIV’s Jason Hill.
