Morrissey maps stateside tour

Morrissey has announced plans to embark on a stateside tour this spring. The British rocker and leader of The Smiths will return to Massachusetts for a performance at the Opera House in Boston on Saturday, June 7. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $48 to $103, will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster.

The tour dates will come on the heels of Morrissey’s completion of his forthcoming tenth solo studio album. The singer’s follow-up to 2009’s Years of Refusal, which will mark his first on Harvest Records, is currently being recorded in France with producer Joe Chiccarelli. No release date for the yet-to-be-named album has been announced, though it is expected to be released in the second half of this year. Joining Morrissey in the sttudio and on tour will be his longtime band, including Boz Boorer (guitar), Jesse Tobias (guitar), Solomon Walker (bass), Matthew Walker (drums) and Gustavo Manzur (keyboards).

Last year, Morrissey released a memoir titled “Autobiography” and a concert film called “Morrissey 25: Live”, which was recorded in March of 2013 at a rare intimate show at Hollywood High School in Los Angeles.
