After rocking the Xfinity Center in Mansfield last month, Miranda Lambert has revealed plans to return to Massachusetts next year as she continues to tour in support of her new album, Platinum. The country superstar will perform at the DCU Center in Worcester on Friday, April 10. Tickets for the show will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster for $39.75 and $54.75. Justin Moore and Ashley Monroe will open the show.

Platinum, Lambert’s fifth studio effort and follow-up to 2011’s Four the Record, debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 after its release in June. It marked her fifth consecutive #1 debut on the Top Country Albums chart, making her the first artist in history to start her career with five No. 1 albums. Produced by Frank Liddell, Chuck Ainlay and Glenn Worf, Lambert wrote eight of the album’s sixteen tracks. Platinum has been powered by hit singles “Automatic” and “Somethin’ Bad” (a duet with Carrie Underwood; streaming below). It also features guest collaborations with Little Big Town (“Smokin’ and “Drinkin'”) and The Time Jumpers (“All That’s Left”).

“There’s humor on this album, and nostalgia, and it’s feminine,” said Lambert in press release. “There’s girl power, not in the ‘I’m gonna burn your house down and kill you, but more where I am as a 30-year-old woman and wife. I’m more settled in life, embracing the good and the bad, and that’s all reflected on Platinum. I still blaze around – but in a less chaotic way.”

Following the show in Massachusetts, Lambert will travel north to New Hampshire for a performance at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester on Thursday, April 9. Tickets for the show will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster for $39.75 and $54.75. A third New England concert set for Connecticut Mohegan Sun Arena is listed on Lambert’s tour itinerary, though no official date has been announced.

Lambert has earned nine nominations at the upcoming Country Music Association Awards, the most of any artist. Along with the top honor of Entertainer of the Year, Lambert is in the running for several notable categories including Female Artist of the Year, Album of the Year (Platinum), Song of the Year (“Automatic”) and Single of the Year (“Automatic”). Lambert will also perform at the ceremony, which ABC will air live from Nashville on November 5.

Earlier this year, Lambert won her fifth consecutive Academy of Country Music (ACM) Female Vocalist of the Year award, setting an ACM record for the most consecutive wins in that category. In all, Miranda took home three ACM honors.

Moore, who earlier this year was named the ACM’s New Artist of the Year winner, continues to tour in support of his latest album 2013’s Off the Beaten Path. Along with singles “Point at You” and “Lettin’ the Night Roll”, it features a duet with Lambert called “Old Habbits”.

Monroe, a bandmate of Lambert in her side project Pistol Annies (along with Angeleena Presley), will be touring in support her sophomore album Like a Rose.
